360 Feedback, is a performance appraisal system that gathers feedback on an individual from a number of sources typically including managers, peers, direct reports and support staff.
Normally written around a competency framework, 360 Feedback gives managers and individuals important information about skills, behaviour and performance, as well as working relationships. This enables a more rounded assessment of an individual compared to the more traditional appraisal arrangements based on line managers’ assessment.
360 Feedback is a particularly useful development tool for manager feedback and to support talent management or leadership development programmes.
